The top 8 female crypto YouTubers in 2023

There is a lot to be learned from the female trailblazers in crypto.

There has been a lack of coverage of females in the tech space, but this doesn’t reflect the fact that more and more women have been establishing themselves as founders, leaders, and creators in the crypto, Web3, blockchain, and metaverse industries. Where better for these women to make their mark than on YouTube, dubbed the go-to place for learning new things, quickly – be it gaming, how to change a tire, or even breaking into crypto.

YouTube may not be the first platform that comes to mind when looking for market updates, especially when Twitter offers real-time crypto alerts. Capitalizing on the educational potential of this space means making time to share the bigger picture by detailing not only experiences and strategies, but also offering actionable how-to’s and predictions. Here are eight women who are using YouTube to extend a hand out to newcomers in the space who want a piece of the pie.

Laura Shin – Unchained

It should come as no surprise that Laura Shin, creator and host of the Unchained podcast and Unchained’s second crypto podcast, The Chopping Block, has made the cut. She may not identify as a YouTuber, but Laura’sLisa’s podcast channel on YouTube is home to some of the most teeth-clenching interviews with thought leaders, from Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin to Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao.

Laura was previously Senior Editor at Forbes and her videos have had over thirty million downloads. She is also the author of Cryptonians: Idealism, Greed, Lies, and the Making of the First Big Cryptocurrency Craze and can be found educating crypto enthusiasts and those with skin in the game on topics ranging from Bitcoin, Ethereum, DeFi, and NFTs, to DAOs and stablecoins.

Casey Leigh Henry – Crypto Casey

Casey Leigh Henry, known to her YouTube community as Crypto Casey, started her channel in 2017. Finding her own footing in crypto and making sense of the plethora of terms, conflicting data, and selection of exchanges to choose from is what led to her mission to be that helping hand for cryptonormies and die-hards.  Videos, how-to guides, and weekly crypto reviews are how Casey prepares her troops for what to look out for in blockchain technology, crypto, bitcoin, Ethereum, trading, and more. As a seasoned crypto investor since 2015, Casey serves up her tips and suggestions for investing in crypto safely and the keys to understanding the regulatory rails. In addition to her YouTube channel, she has her own website and podcast available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Natalie Brunell – Coin Stories with Natalie Brunell

Natalie Brunell is a YouTuber, Emmy award-winning investigative journalist, and podcast host who uses her journalistic edge and passion for understanding global markets and finance to educate crypto lovers.

Natalie shares crypto trends and doesn't steer clear of controversial debates as she interviews various innovators and bitcoin experts like Nic Carter on crypto mining climate implications, and political leaders like Senator Cynthia Lummis on bitcoin regulation.  For her followers that prefer tuning in on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, Natalie’s podcast Coin Stories with Natalie Brunell is where the conversation continues.

Sapna Singh – Earn with Saphna

Sapna Singh, a full-time software engineer, part-time YouTuber, and author, may only be twenty-four but she’s been on a mission to break crypto trading taboos and change the world with tech for half a decade. Sapna imparts her knowledge of crypto in Hindi on her channel, Earn with Sapna, and published her first book, The Basic Of Crypto Market, in 2022.  She believes you need to get your hands dirty, but keep your wallet closed until you’ve done your own thorough research. Sapna breaks down crypto and bitcoin concepts and keeps her subscribers up-to-date with the latest market occurrences, price forecasts, crypto news, and coin, and hardware wallet reviews. She also advises crypto enthusiasts to stay ahead of the curve by being active on social media.

WendyO – The O Show

WendyO may have started out in the healthcare sector, but in 2018, the Los Angeles-based entrepreneur and crypto analyst founded CryptoWendyO Media, Blockchain, and Consultancy and began hosting her own YouTube channel, The O Show.  Previously a Co-Host on CoinDesk’s The Hash Podcast, WendyO has dedicated her career to improving people's quality of life, using blockchain. Her interviews with crypto and NFT experts keep viewers up-to-date on market fluctuations and offer point-blank reviews on up-and-coming crypto projects. Friday’s are specifically dedicated to price action and on Sundays, viewers can join her weekly discussions on altcoins.

Lea Thompson – Girl Gone Crypto

Lea Thompson, Founder of Girl Gone Crypto takes the seriousness out of crypto education and brings her expertise to the muggles of crypto. Her passion for blockchain media, marketing, and video production is what sets her apart as the YouTuber takes her conversation out of the conventional office space and vlogs about it instead on walks around the city and her apartment.

Lea isn’t afraid to put on a costume, role play, and use memes to the fullest as she shares interesting crypto projects and explainer videos and offers her take on security, decentralization, and blockchain industry news in what she calls “The Crypto Minute.” When she isn’t sharing news recaps within sixty seconds, Lea works with crypto projects on their video content, engages in social media collaborations, and speaks at various industry-specific events.

Rachel Siegel – Crypto Finally Rachel Siegel, blockchain advocate and Founder of Crypto Finally, leaves the crypto community wondering why music videos aren’t a medium for learning. Her YouTube channel combines her love for production with her twelve years of experience in film, theater, and commercial and live events.

Rachel’s channel is geared toward millennial audiences and aims to get more newcomers involved by placing entertainment media in an educational setting. She writes and creates her own music video content and, by using parody, she breaks down bitcoin basics and offers tips through music. But her material is multi-faceted and includes one-on-one interviews, animations, and live streams together in one place.

Chjango – Chjango Unchained

Self-taught Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validator, Web3 educator, and advisor at Osmosis Labs, Chjango Unchained is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a futurist who ditched her corporate nine-to-five job and pursued a career as a crypto community builder.

Her podcast, Interchain.FM – the “Cosmos Radio Station” – is on YouTube and features industry experts like Google whistleblower Zach Vorhies and Quadriga CX victim Tong Zou. Chjango’s no-hype channel shares the most interesting protocols and the people behind them pursuing real yield in decentralized finance (DeFi), self-sovereign identity, and freedom from the shackles of the Web2 digital age.

YouTube is the place to be

There’s no doubt that these women are doing the legwork of gathering as much information as possible about crypto trends and placing it at their subscriber's doorstep. Not only are they making it incredibly easy to become proficient in even the most complex crypto strategies, but their mediums of animation, music videos, interviews, role play, and so on take this dense topic and turn it into something that’s easily digestible.
