Perfectly Sliced - November 2021

A breezy October lifted SlicedBrand’s clients to new heights of coverage

The tech scene has been blazing hot with news lately, and we’ve been generating some of our own heat with big wins for our clients over the past month. Before we tell you about that, we’ve got some news of our own that we’re bursting at the seams to share.

SlicedBrand won the bronze in the Globee Communications Awards for the Startup of the Year! We were selected for our core mission -- to help startups succeed through sharing their stories globally. We love working with tech companies who are making a difference in the world, and it’s an honor to be recognized for our achievements!

How do we do what we do? I shared some of the secrets of our success with Business Digest Magazine earlier this year. One tip? We make sure our clients aren’t just promoting their news, but that they’re sharing stories and engaging with the public in a way that provides real value.

In other SlicedBrand news, we held the second Twitter Spaces session of Life’s a Pitch on October 29th. Following a successful inaugural session in September, our panel of respected media experts returned to offer detailed feedback on how startups can catch the attention of the press in meaningful ways. We’ve compiled our panelists’ best advice on everything from buzzwords to being honest on our blog. And watch this space! News about the next session is around the corner...

Like I said earlier, we make sure our clients are providing real value to the public. One of the ways they do that is through thought leadership pieces that share insights and knowledge on a wide variety of topics. Here are some informative articles that were recently published.

Finoa’s Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Henrik Gebbing, along with the company’s Senior Compliance Manager, Wilhelm Nöffke, wrote for TechCrunch about why regulating crypto is essential to its global legitimacy. They also explain why traditional forms of regulation from the fiat world do not reciprocally apply to every aspect of crypto.

Dominik Schiener, Co-Founder and Chairman of the IOTA Foundation, explained why we shouldn’t fear robots inevitably taking our jobs on Cointelegraph. The world’s negative view on automation notwithstanding, AI actually brings with it the ability to analyze unimaginable data sets, automate previously unattainable processes, and bring forward a future that will ultimately provide jobs for everyone.

Springbox AI Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Kassem Lahhem, discussed how the next generation of investors are gamifying investing on Nasdaq. Young people are using easy-to-navigate and gamified apps but neglecting to keep up with changing trends, putting them at risk of losing funds.

Leif-Nissen shared on Datanami his thoughts regarding user autonomy and the impending data war. Companies have consolidated control over our once free-spirited Internet and therefore our data. Ironically, by asserting control over the Internet, corporations gave rise to a movement centered on decentralized and privacy-focused services and applications.

Duda CEO Itai Sadan wrote on Noupe about the common mistakes that increase website loading time. Website visitors have no patience for substandard performance, so companies should take steps to ensure a smooth experience on their online platforms.

Via Surgical’s Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, Ofek Levin, offered up tips on Nasdaq for medtech startups going through the FDA approval process. He notes that the process to gain approval is long, and startups need to be sure they’ve raised enough money to get them through it.

Since many countries have reopened their borders to tourists, Viber’s Chief Information Officer, Amir Ish-Shalom, penned some handy tips on ways to keep your data safe while traveling, which was published by YFS Magazine. His top tip? Password-protect everything.

Robert Jacobi, Director of WordPress at Cloudways, wrote on Nasdaq about using a multi-cloud strategy to deliver computing and storage resources to host and gather insight from data across the globe. He also addressed ways to overcome the challenges to this kind of strategy for data management.

As many folks spent the month pondering what costume they’d wear for Halloween, we were busy getting our clients into top-tier publications with their announcements. Even those who weren’t announcing the launch of smart contracts or the rollout of disappearing messages landed on some fantastic “best of” lists.

IOTA made huge waves through the crypto sphere with the beta launch of its Smart Contracts, nabbing mentions on Cointelegraph, ZDNet, Yahoo!Finance, Investing.com (and again), Coin Rivet, City A.M., Benzinga, CoinMarketCap, CryptoSlate, U.Today, Invezz, BTC-ECHO, FOCUS, BeInCrypto Germany, BeInCrypto Spain, CryptoNewsZ, t3n, CryptoNewsFlash, Orchestrate All the Things, Tech Times, Bitcoin Insider, DailyCoin, Cryptonews, AMBCrypto, Bitcoin Ethereum News, ZyCrypto, and others.

Xayn’s ongoing quest for online privacy continued getting publicity on a global scale on BBC News, Yahoo!, Yahoo! News Canada, Yahoo! News Australia, TechCrunch Japan, BBC Swahili, BBC Afrique, UseIT, Investigaciones Metabolicas, Produktions Leiter, Pflumm, TechRound, and more.

Qualitest acquired telexiom and solidified its status as the world’s largest quality engineering company with feature articles on CTECH, Tech.eu, and elsewhere.

Duda landed on some mighty fine lists for the best website builders on PCMag, Website Builder Expert, MakeUseOf, and Search Engine Journal, among others.

When WhatsApp went down, Viber catapulted into the global news as a leading alternative messenger app on sites including TechCrunch, The Washington Post, Yahoo!, Rolling Stone, iTechPost, CNN Brazil, Quartz, and Welt.

When IOTA’s Tangle was selected by the German government to power the SUSEE project, the story was featured at U.Today, Crypto News Flash, BTCMANAGER, Cryptonomist, Crypto Economy, Investing.com, CoinJournal, and elsewhere.

The Grocery Talks Podcast had a chat with Wasteless Founder and CEO Oded Omer to talk about solutions to reduce food waste in grocery stores.

Viber’s Disappearing Messages feature made notable appearances on PhoneArena, iMore, Ubergizmo, and more.

Artlist scooped up some great mentions of its tools and contests for digital creatives on sites around the world including iProfessional, No Film School, 4K Shooters, ArtsHub, Nature World News, and others.

As the start of the fourth quarter, October sets the stage for the end of the year, and oh what a stage we’ve set. Over the past month, our clients have been recognized for their outstanding technologies in a wide variety of sectors -- from distributed ledger technology to sustainability. At the same time, SlicedBrand has won an award for its own achievements, and our Life’s A Pitch series is gaining listeners and traction with each new session. Whatever excitement November has in store for us, we’re ready for it!
